Ratio • A ratio is a comparison of 2 quantities. • Though, they are said the same, there are 3 ways to write a ratio: • All of these ratios are read “1 to 2”. • ½ (looks like a fraction) • 1:2 • 1 to 2
Ratios - Examples There is a ratio of 3 smiley faces to 4 lightening bolts. • Written as ¾, 3:4 or 3 to 4. There is a ratio of 2 suns to 9 objects. • Written as 2/9, 2:9 or 2 to 9.
