  1. Report back from the Interim SAG on its progress towards the Terms of Reference (ToR) GNC Strategic Advisory Group (SAG) Global Nutrition Cluster Annual Meeting Geneva, 9 – 11 July 2013

Background • Jan 2013 suggested, operational Mar 2013 • Objective • to provide strategic direction for and oversight of the activity of the GNC for 6 months and overseeing governance review • Membership • GNC Coordinator and UNICEF representative were appointed • Others self nominated and no vote due to small numbers: WFP (chair), HelpAge, Concern, ACF, NCC

Activities • Communication • Monthly by skype with additional scheduled meetings as required • Excellent attendance / commitment of members • Governance • Review of TOR, participation in selection, orientation, inputs into inception report, preliminary results feedback (now being presented) • Action plan • revised and streamlined the workplan and prioritized GNC tasks over period March -  July • (and circulation) • Advocacy • Letter to request forum (drafted among partners, next draft by SAG, circulation to partners and sent) • Advocacy strategy (postponed)

  4. Activities contd. • GNC meeting • Developing agenda with broad consultation in light of refined role of GNC • Preparation support and direction • Capacity support • RRT recruitment, IMC training (updated and endorsed) • Trainings from ECHO proposal (modality decisions) • Technical areas and partnership • Food sec and nut proposal (input), • IYCF E meetings, Syria support, gFSC and GNC working principles (updates)
