CARACTERÍSTICAS • Estos pronombres siempre funcionan como sujeto, es decir van delante del verbo al principio de la frase: I am his sister. (Soy su hermana) He is at school. (Está en el colegio) They are very ill. (Están muy enfermos)
Cuando la frase es afirmativa o negativa, estos pronombres van al principio de la frase, pero cuando es interrogativa, van detrás del auxiliar: We live in La Rioja. (Vivimos en la Rioja) She doesn’t eat rice. (Ella no come arroz) Is it on the table? (¿Está en la mesa?)
CUIDADO: Aunque en castellano haya muchas veces que no ponemos el sujeto, en inglés hay que ponerlo SIEMPRE: He studies Japonese (Estudia Japones) I play the piano (Toco el piano) We are in Italy (Estamos en Italia)
CARACTERÍSTICAS • Estos adjetivos indican posesión I am his sister. (Soy su hermana) This is our school. (Este es nuestro colegio) Those are their bags. (Aquellas son sus bolsas)
Como son adjetivos van siempre delante de un nombre: That is our house. (Esa es nuestra casa) Where is my book?. (¿Dónde está mi libro?) Is it on their table? (¿Está en su mesa?)
