An either or solution of these two categories would certainly miss a future oriented engineering education concept. This includes solid basics in mathematics/physics/engineering fundamentals, the development of engineering skills and expertise to design and realize products and processes which serve for the needs of tomorrow, working together in interdisciplinary engineering teams, knowing about management principles. A challenge for current and future engineering education is to teach these hard and soft skills in a mutually beneficial way. TeachING-LearnING.EU

How can we encourage and support application-oriented, technology-interested young people that may have difficulties with theory to successfully complete their studies? How many students that did not pass a theory-oriented selection process could have become good engineers and master hands-on challenges? TeachING-LearnING.EU
