1. PAE Activity at Oil&Gas fields Advantages of TETRA in Oil & Gas Industry Business Unit Golfo San Jorge
2500 Wells 58 Batteries 20 Separation And Water Injection plants 4 Oil Treatment Plants 3 Gas Treatment Plants 2 Compression Plants Advantages of TETRA in Oil & Gas Industry • 1. PAE Activity at Oil&Gas fields 100.000 Barrels Oil/Day 6.5 Millions M3 Gas/Day 25 Drilling and Work-over teams operating continuously 80 Civil Works adding or modifying surface installations 5000 Peoples works at the operation

Advantages of TETRA in Oil & Gas Industry • 2.Project Description • 2.2 Concept Engineering (Made By Juan Carlos Isola and Floreal Fernandez)
Advantages of TETRA in Oil & Gas Industry 2.Project Description 2.3 Studied Options -1) To expand the existent VHF system (Smartrunk) Not possible, max 15 channels -2) To convert the existent system to an analogic trunking (MPT 1327- 160 Mhz) Not possible, max 15 channels (by local regulation) -3) To install a new trunking system at a new band (MPT-1327) Possible but expensive, many batteries needed, more space required, many sites (combiners & duplexers, reduce cell sizes => Trunking Effect less effective => More Channels => More combiners & duplexers , smaller cell sizes …. And so on.) -4) To use cell phones from an operator Not possible, Only 10% with local operator coverage, and without channel availability ensured at emergencies -5) To install a cell network Expensive but many sites required (area 19 times larger than Buenos Aires city) but not all requierement could be satisfied). -6) To install a digital trunking TETRA All requirements satisfied
3. Actual Situation • 3.1 Network Architecture • BASE STATIONS INTERCONNECTED THROUGH STANDARD SDH/PDH NETWORK. • ALL NODES WITH AT LEAST 2 FIBER OPTIC OR MICROWAVE LINKS. Advantages of TETRA in Oil & Gas Industry
3. Actual Situation – 3.2 Coverage • 3000 WELLS (2500 • IN PRODUCTION AND 500 • ABANDONED) • 2960 WELLS WITH QUALITY • ENSURED (ENOUGH MARGINS) • 39 WELLS WITH MORE SIGNAL • THAN SENSIBILITY BUT WITH • NO ENOUGH MARGIN • 1 WELL WITH LESS SIGNAL • THAN SENSIBILITY • ALL PLANTS AND BATTERIES • WITH ENOGUH MARGINS • ONLY 500 MTS ACCESS ROADS • WITH MARGINAL SIGNAL Advantages of TETRA in Oil & Gas Industry
