Facts about the Bay Campus The Singleton and Bay Campuses are some three miles equidistant from Swansea City centre resulting in a six mile journey between the Campuses.
Section 106 and Planning Conditions • An average of 763 car park movements in morning peak • An average 677 car movements in afternoon peak • These are averaged out over the week • There are Trigger points and financial penalties incurred when these car movements are exceeded! They are substancial!
Some Info on the Bay Campus • We will have 500 Staff Parking spaces and 100 Pay and Display Parking spaces. • On opening we will have 914 students resident at the Bay Campus in September • 545 moving from Hendrefoilan Student Village from February 2016
Dual Campus Working • This means that Singleton Campus has to be included. • The Data Science 2 building is working towards the BREEAM Standard.

Bus it More for Less • Swansea University have negotiated excellent rates for bus ticketing for both Students and Staff.
Area Covered by the tickets • FirstStudent Swansea City– will provide unlimited access to First Cymru services within the following boundary area. • Swansea City tickets are valid in the area bounded by Jersey Marine Village, Bowen Arms (Skewen) , Birchgrove, Ynysforgan Roundabout, Morriston Hospital , Penllergaer Roundabout, Gorseinon Bus Station, Loughor (Ship & Castle). • FirstStudent Outer Zone- will provide unlimited access to our services within the following boundary area. Swansea Bay tickets are valid in the area bounded by Pontardawe (Cross), Crynant (Pen-y-Bont Bridge), Blaengwynfi, Resolven (Turn), Glyncorrwg, Croeserw, Pontrhydyfen, Bryn, Margam Park, and also out as far as Ammanford and Llanelli.
What this means to students (and Staff) • Findings show that the majority of students only travel within the Swansea City Zone, the majority of students will benefit from savings:

Two Ways to purchase the ticket • In the Travel Shop (as is currently the case) • New for 2015 - M-Ticketing, where customers with a compatible smart phone can have bus tickets fulfilled electronically rather than a conventional bus ticket, providing many convenience and security benefits. Customers purchasing these tickets electronically would need to validate their entitlement via means of a “swansea.ac.uk” e-mail address within a set period following purchase.
In Swansea several taxi firms have online booking services and for when you are on the move mobile phone Apps. Active Travel Days • Working with Partners: Sustrans and Cycle Training Wales • Dr Bike sessions saw 70 staff bring their bikes along for servicing • 2 Mechanics sessions • Seven 1-1 Bike Training sessions
