How MJF 3d printing is different from SLS 3d printing

There's a lot of confusion around what MJF 3d printing can do and how it compares to SLS 3d printing. So let's look at the differences between these two printing processes so you can choose the best one for your project.

  1. How MJF 3d printing is different from SLS 3d printing There's a lot of confusion around what MJF 3d printing can do and how it compares to SLS 3d printing. So let's look at the differences between these two printing processes so you can choose the best one for your project. Difference between MJF and SLS 3D Printing- Cost - While MJF employs a fusing agent with additional heat to form the solid components, SLS utilizes lasers to fuse the material collectively. SLS produces more trash. However, the price of the fusing agents in MJF is higher. SLS considers how much room the part consumes during construction, while MJF is primarily concerned with the proportion of material the part uses. In other words, MJF is less expensive for less dense pieces, and SLS is economical for more solid components. Strength - SLS and MJF have similar component strengths. But since MJF is more isotropic, implying that the power in the Z is significantly larger, it comes out marginally ahead. On paper, all are listed at 48Mpa, but according to internal tests conducted by 3DPRINTUK, SLS is only 42Mpa in the Z-axis of the build, while MJF is still 48Mpa. Accuracy - We have determined that SLS and MJF are equally reliable after conducting rigorous internal testing. According to HP, the value is +/- 0.25mm every 100mm, compared to +/- 0.3mm per 100mm for EOS. The SLS components are, nevertheless, generally more precise than the official numbers because of our extensive SLS expertise and our internally designed scaling technology. Similar measurements of the same components built throughout our systems have produced outcomes. Colour Variation - While MJF 3D printing is grey as it eventually comes out of the process and can presently only be coloured black. SLS components are white and can colored in any colour. Conclusion 3D printing is an emerging technology that has been around for decades but only recently has begun to become widespread and affordable for consumers. The technology has been used by businesses and organizations for years to produce parts needed in their operations or marketing campaigns.
