  2. What are the reason of this qualification initiative ? • A strong request by companies • Specialised needs of laboratory technicians • Initial Training can’t answer really to these requests • Limited demand in the time or in the volume

  3. Project Objectives • Preparation to Upper Technician Diploma (BTS) in Biological Analysis • Same programmes as the Upper Technician Diploma ( BTS) in Initial Training but adapted • A two-year preparation.

  4. Description • Student recruitment from various school origins and of different ages (Bac S, STL ou Bac Pro, salarees...) • Twenty-hour course a week on two days at « Jules FERRY » school and fifteen hours in a company • Continuous assessmentduring the contract and final examination at the end of the second year

  5. Compagnie Advantages • Training of a «maison» staff • Adapted to companies needs • Complement of practical basis training in Lycée Jules FERRY. • Tax reduction • Recruitment grants for adult recruitments for indeterminated duration contract.

  6. Trainee Advantages • First employ is garanted • Combinaison of wage and studies • Preparation of an official diploma ….and some inconvenients,too ! Absence two-days by week in the company Important personnel work for the trainee all weeks

Résultats 2002/2003 • Number of Students registered • 4 registered in the second year • 9 registered in the first year • Results at national level • 50 % of students from QC pass the exam • 52 % of students from initial training pass the exam • Results at local level • 66% of students registered in « Jules FERRY » school pass the exam. • 8 students out of 9 are accepted in the second year

  8. Action 2003/2004 • Number of students registered this year • 11 registered in the second year • 11 registered in the first year • Previsions • At least 50 % pass the exam • Good motivation of first-year students
