All about DATASETS • Description and Algorithms • Source • Spatial and temporal Resolutions • Time period covering
APHRODITE : Asian Precipitation - Highly-Resolved Observational Data Integration Towards Evaluation of Water Resources • The datasets are created primarily with data obtained from a rain-gauge-observation network, precompiled datasets, and derived from global telecommunication system. • http://www.chikyu.ac.jp/precip/ • Sign-in with your e-mail and download the datasets. • Daily datasets from 1951-2007 with 0.25 and 0.50 lon-lat resolution.
Domain of the current products APHRO_MA/ME/RU_V1003R1 and APHRO_JP_V1005. Red, black and blue dots show stations corresponding to original rain-gaugedata individually collected from local organizations, derived from precompiled datasets, and derived from global telecommunication system reports, respectively. Yatagai, et al. 2009
TRMM (Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission) • The datasets are created primarily with data obtained from a rain-gauge-observation network, precompiled datasets, and derived from global telecommunication system. • http://trmm.gsfc.nasa.gov/ • Sign-in with your e-mail and download the datasets. • 3hrly, daily, and monthly datasets from 1998-2012 with 0.25 and 0.50 lon-lat resolution.
CMORPH: CPC Morphing technique for the production of global precipitation estimates • TRMM (Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission) • The datasets are created primarily with data obtained from a rain-gauge-observation network, precompiled datasets, and derived from global telecommunication system. • http://trmm.gsfc.nasa.gov/ • Sign-in with your e-mail and download the datasets. • 3hrly anddaily datasets from 1998-2012 with 0.25 and 0.50 lon-lat resolution.

Land surface temperature at 5.6km resolution from MODIS-Terra for July 2009 (left) and July 2010 (right). Land surface temperatures were considerably warmer in 2010 compared to 2009 in this region. Also note in these images of the 5.6 km resolution data how the colder mountain temperatures in the Alps and Carpathian Mountain Arc are clearly observed.
