Aims of the project • To investigate how ACL, V&C and WBL providers deliver PTLLS and CTLLS • To research sources of innovative practice • To pilot innovative practice • To disseminate findings, including “practitioner guides”

Aim 1 – the investigation • Telephone survey of 14 organisations • Identified range of delivery approaches, some context specific • Views of learners and practitioners • Identified sources of practice to be shared • Requests for further research
Aim 2 – research themes • IAG, IA and ILP • Learners with literacy support needs • Learning resources • Integrated level 3 & 4 course • Alternative assessment methods • Alternative awarding bodies • E-tutoring
Aim 3 – pilots • Taster days with IAG for intending learners (ACL) • Research and planning for a bespoke WBL course through Edexcel • Research and planning for context-specific courses (V&C) • Pilot of an APL process (WBL) • Pilot of an assessment workbook supported by e-tutoring (WBL)
Aim 4 – dissemination • Context specific “Practitioner Guides” • Themes – Recruitment, Induction, Delivery, Resources, Tutoring, Assessment/Verification • Topics: • Delivery relevant to the context • Approaches centres have adopted • Sources of materials and examples of practice • Further research required
