  3. Students and their dads, grandfathers, uncles or older cousins come together to eat breakfast and talk about things they otherwise may never mention.

  5. At Bielefield & Spencer • All Pro Dad is coordinated by ICARE and the faith-based interventionists as well as the Family School Connection staff and other volunteers. • Expanding to Farm Hill School • All Pro Dad will be coordinated with the Family Resource Center, PTA and other volunteers.

  6. Research • Research shows that boys with highly engaged fathers --those who eat meals together, spend time together, read together --are better off in life. • For example, an elementary aged boy with an engaged father is more likely to be social, take initiative, and maintain good grades. • The statistics are daunting --boys who lack a father figure are more likely to be incarcerated, commit crimes, and abuse drugs and alcohol. Connections • All Pro Dads promotes positive connections between children and their fathers and/or male caregivers.

  7. Supports Partnerships • When families participate in a variety of ways in their children’s education, including decision-making, children and the school are more successful. • The Partnerships that brought us All Pro Dad • Parent Leadership • Ministry Alliance • Middlesex Hospital & ICARE • Family Resource Center • PTA • Many staff & parent volunteers • The Community Foundation of Middlesex County

  8. Thank you to the community foundation of Middlesex County, ICARE, parents, staff and all our volunteers. • The Middletown Public Schools has received $3,000 from the Community Foundation of Middlesex County in the At-Risk Boys & Young Men Focus area to support the All Pro Dad program at Bielefield, Farm Hill and Spencer Elementary Schools. • The All Pro Dad program supports Dads in their role as caregivers.
