What we intend to achieve We are planning to design the audio for a 3 – 5 minute animation piece that is orientated around the sea, this animation shall be heavily musical, with a calming sea theme.
Music The music will sway based off the mood from scene to scene. Mood changes happen frequently in this short animation, which gives a good opportunity to show off our capability to strengthen imagery using a soundtrack.
Sound Effects Most of the sound effects are going to be original recordings, a foley studio is at our disposal which we intend to use, to get the sounds required for the ‘sea’ vibe, we will travel to the coast in order to get the raw audio possible.
Week 6 • Next week our client will have a full storyboard and timings. This is when the music composition can begin. Music composition should be finished by week 9 • We will also begin capturing and manipulating foley sounds
Week 9 • By week nine the music and foley sounds will be completed • Two weeks before deadline (19th December) our client will have a picture lock. We will work with her in the penultimate week to make sure she is happy with our soundtrack. • The final week will be for the mixing and mastering process
As a strong team of two it is definitely possible to create a professional audio soundtrack for this animation. Learning about how the industry works is a key element of this year for us, this will give us valuable experience of relying on other parties to help create a product for a client.
