InterceptorIsotope Identifying Pager April 2008
Advanced Spectroscopic Radionuclide Pager - (ASRP) INTERCEPTORTM • Finds Faster - Superior gamma & neutron sensitivity • Identifies Promptly & Accurately - All-In-One Instrument with superior identification accuracy • Better Coverage – PRD wearers become RIID users as well, superior built in reach back capability • Lower Cost of Ownership - Low acquisition & operational costs
The value of CZT … it’s all about (convenient) resolution!
Easy to Use & Live With • Configurable easy to use three button operation: on/off on top, select & execute on either side with informative display prompts shown in display footer • High intensity status LED’s visible from both top & front • large bright color QVGA TFT display. • Audible, visual and vibration alarms
Effectively Communicates & Records • Optional Bluetooth 1.2, class 2 wireless for immediate reach-back analysis via cell phone or satellite phone to the experts • USB live or logged communication • Event recording: • Built in VGA resolution digital camera • Built in microphone & voice recorder • 64MB SD memory card for securely storing many thousands of results and spectra. Upgradeable to 1GB
FEATURES PRD/RIID capability CZT finder & identification detectors He3 neutron detector Small & lightweight Three pushbutton operation Top alarm indication Digital camera, voice recorder Bluetooth communications Low power technology BENEFITS All-in-one for greater versatility Superior sensitivity with accurate identification High sensitivity to neutrons Can be worn constantly Easy-to-use, no PC required Can be worn in holster Document suspicious objects Transmit info to third parties Increased battery life, availability INTERCEPTOR™ Features & Benefits
INTERCEPTOR™ Package Holster Interceptor Charger Connection Charger External battery Interceptor-Sync USB Connection
Basic Operation • Switching the device on – hold power button until all LED illuminate. • Switching Device Off – Hold Power button until all LED illuminate. • Alarm Acknowledgements = press top central button • Wake Up – Press any button (90 sec sleep) • Low Battery <5% will enter display into sleep and top green light will flash when top button is pressed.
operation • LED’s • gamma finder and ID detectors • display • blue tooth antenna • microphone • speaker • USB port
INTERCEPTOR™ Operation – LED Indications • Red LED blinks to indicate gamma alarm • Green LED indicates that the unit is “alive” as well as the battery and charging status • Blue LED blinks to indicate neutron alarm
Charging Battery • Lithium Ion requires between 5 and 12 hours for full charge • Battery service life – 2~3years (300-500 charges).
operation - flipping screen • pressing the action button flips the display by 180 degrees, allowing an easy view whilst in holster and attached to the belt.
operation - dose rate mode • this mode displays gamma dose rate in numerical and logarithmic scale, and the neutron count rate numerical value. The gamma preset pre-alarm and full alarm levels.
operation - FINDER mode • In addition to the gamma dose rate and neutron count rate a histogram is displayed. The histogram helps to locate a source faster. Any changes in the radiation level are displayed in the histogram. Also an audible signal with its frequency equivalent to the ambient dose rate is generated.
operation – timer/counter mode • this displays the accumulated gamma dose and neutron counts.
operation - identification • the time needed for identification is constantly updated and displayed on the screen.
operation - identification • after the InterceptorTM has acquired sufficient data the identification results are displayed (probability, nuclide category and isotope).
operation - identification • After an identification the user has the option to view the spectrum.
operation – voice recorder mode • the InterceptorTM can also be used as a digital voice recorder. Voice messages (.wav files) are stored in the spectrum directory with a timestamp.
operation – setting mode • this mode allows the user to change alarm conditions or adjust the display brightness.
The new ANSI spec for ID Pagers is likely to ask for 25-30 specific isotopes, which we will have in the main library. Then a secondary library of 45-60 isotopes will be available to ID from this secondary list of extra isotopes when failing to ID from the primary library or when requested by operator entries.. This will allow customers to configure there unit to get the best performance and meet the ANSI standards and then add additional specific isotopes of concern. INTERCEPTOR™ - Nuclide List
