Planning & Development Department Services. • Provide professional planning expertise to City Council, Administration, Planning Board, Board of Adjustment, Developers, Citizens, etc. • Short & Long Range Planning Goals, Policies, Ordinances, Growth Plans • Conduct Studies • Community Development Activities • Administration and enforcement of Development Ordinances adopted by the Council: • Zoning • Watershed protection (Upper Neuse) * Audited 3/10 – In compliance • Flood prevention. • Subdivision regulations. • Hazard Mitigation. • Rental Registration. • Public Nuisances. • Abandoned/Inoperable Vehicles* *In collaboration with City of Roxboro Police Department • Building Condemnation, Minimum Housing Code Enforcement* * **In collaboration with Person County Inspection Department

Planning & Development Department Services. • Assist/Promote Neighborhood Preservation & Revitalization Efforts through: • Partnership Development & Retention • Grant Dev., Admin. & Implementation • Code Enforcement • Participation in Community & Neighborhood Watch Meetings • RDG Board & Design Committee • Volunteerism

Staff to: • Planning Board • Council Advisory Board • Composed of seven members appointed by the Roxboro City Council. • Reviews and makes recommendations to Council concerning, but not limited to: • Land use plan. • Changes in development regulations. • Requests to rezone property. • Special use permits.
