  3. Las palabras negativas • Ni…ni = neither…nor • Nada = nothing • Nadie = no one • Ninguno = no • Nunca = never • Tampoco = neither

  4. Las reglas • Spanish uses a double negative when the negative word follows a verb. • No estoy haciendo nada. I am not doing anything. • When a negative word comes before the verb, do not use the double negative. • Nunca trabajo los domingos. I never work on Sundays.

  5. Affirmative and negative adjectives must agree in gender and number with the noun that is modified. • Hay algunos libros en la clase. (masculine and plural) • No hay ningunas chicas en la clase. (feminine and plural)

  6. “Alguno” and “ninguno” change to “ningún” and “algún” when they come before a singular, masculine noun. • Estoy buscando algún dinero. • No tengo ningún trabajo.

  7. “Ni…ni” and “o…o” need to be used with a noun or adjective in between. • No tengo ni la tarea ni el libro.
