  1. TeachEx: Teaching Excellence in Israel WHAT SHOULD WE DO WITH THE BIG QUESTION??? 4-7 July 2016 Krakow, Poland Moshe Amir Bologna Training Center Ben-Gurion University of the Negev

  2. TeachEx: Teaching Excellence in Israel The “Big Question” does not exist in the Teachex proposal. As we are aware, the Big Question workgroup is an elective addendum to the Teachex program – it is an afterthought which does not impose upon us any formal requirements: no formal outputs, no required reports – we are accountable only to ourselves. 3. TeachEx: Teaching Excellence in Israel Considering this situation, and reflecting on all the Tempus projects with which I have been acquainted, I believe this workgroup is a unique initiative which creates unusual opportunities. It creates a meeting space where all project participants can, for a short time, depart from the project’s formal restraints and requirement (the workpackages and deliverables), strip away the necessary focus on outputs and reports and allow their minds to engage in freeflowing and freefloating discussion about the diversity of practical, philosophical and professional issues that concern and inform the production of higher education. 4. TeachEx: Teaching Excellence in Israel I would suggest that we should try to develop themes that do not directly impact, duplicate, overlap or step on any toes of the workpackages but would interest, energize and inform them. I feel this should be the general approach of the “Big Question”. Moshe Amir Bologna Training Center Ben-Gurion University of the Negev

  5. TeachEx: Teaching Excellence in Israel The themes and issues that the “BIG QUESTION” will address should emerge from a discussion process and consensus reflecting the entire consortium. Moshe Amir Bologna Training Center Ben-Gurion University of the Negev
