COPRI Background Information COPRI was formed October 1, 2000; one of eight ASCE Institutes. COPRI’S focus is technical, educational, scientific and professional issues related to coastal, ocean, ports, wetlands, waterways and riverine environments. COPRI works to advance and disseminate scientific and engineering knowledge to our diverse membership. COPRI works to enhance communication and cooperation among our members, both domestic and abroad, and the industry as a whole Engaging members in sustainable development and the protection of coasts, oceans, ports, waterways, rivers and wetlands. COPRI provides members the opportunity to develop policy change to developing standards and technically sound programs such as specialty conferences and workshops
Organizational Structure • The Governing Board consists of 7 Members • Presidential Officers (4) are elected by Primary Committees (C,O,P & R) - 4 year term • Presidential Officers Rotation of Responsibility: • Year 1: Member • Year 2: Vice President • Year 3: President • Year 4: Past President • ASCE BOD Appointed Representative – no more than four one year terms • Treasurer Appointed by President with majority consent – 4 year term • Secretary Appointed by President with majority consent – 4 year term
