A little about me.... • I am a keen surfer, qualified life guard and trained Surf Instructor. I have been teaching for 10 years and have led 2 trips to Paris and 3 residential trips to London. • I have been snowboarding for about 12 years and will be attending an SCO (Snowsport Course Organisers) training session in January prior to departure.
When...... • We leave by coach on Saturday 15th Feb at lunchtime. • We get back on Sunday 23rd Midday (depending on ferry crossing times)

With who..... • We are being collected from outside school on Friday 14th lunchtime. • We are collecting students and teachers from: http://www.queensmeadschool.org.uk/ who we will be sharing the trip with – they have been going to the same resort for the past 4 years. They have 4 staff and 30 students on the trip. The full travel itinerary will be confirmed once ferry crossing times are booked.
Interski • Interski are one of the UK’s biggest ski tour operators and rated the best for school trips. • This ABTA and ATOL approved travel company deal specifically with schools and are geared to cater to YOUR needs. • All trips are fully insured. • Safety of the group is top priority
Accommodation, food and activities..... • Hotel includes: • 2-4 person shared rooms • TV room • Sports activities • 10 mins drive from town and the ski lifts • Breakfast – cereals and toast • Lunch and dinner – cooked hot meals
A day on the slopes • Breakfast 8:00-9:00am • 1st ski session: 10:00am-12:00pm • Lunch in the hotel: 12:30-13:30pm • 2nd ski session: 14:00-16:00pm • Relax/down time: 16:30-18:00pm • Dinner in the hotel: 18:30-19:30pm • Optional evening activities: 19:30-21:00pm • Lights out: 22:00pm
Clothing and Safety • Full ski equipment will be provided: ski’s, poles, boots and helmets. • Lift passes will be given to students on the first day of skiing. • PROPER ski clothing is compulsory – they will not allow people on the slopes in jeans and t-shirts! • Some suggestions: check out cheap deals on e-bay; borrow from friends/family; hire from Interski for the week. (Students went skiing last year, they may have stuff..)
The Essentials for the slopes: • Helmet (provided!) • Goggles – optional extra, quite good for cloudy days on the slopes. • Waterproof ski jacket – really important to have a decent one!) • Gloves – very important to keep your hands warm – you can buy them there, but really expensive) • Trousers/salopettes – make sure they are waterproof, you will be on your backside at some stage! • Lots of very warm socks..... • Fleeces, jumpers and long sleeve shirts and jeans – sensible shoes! • If you have thermal underwear – BRING IT!
We will be travelling by: • Bus to the ferry at Dover • Ferry across the English Channel • Bus to Italy
Requirements: • PASSPORT! • EHIC card – European Health Insurance Card, really simple to get online. • Warm clothes for the evenings • Swimming stuff for the indoor pool • Spending money for the ferry/bus/snacks etc.
Optionals at your own risk..... • Mobile phones, games consoles, ipads/tablets etc.... • Jewellery • Extra valuables..... • These are all YOUR OWN responsibility....
