Auxiliaryverbs • are the verbs followed by another verb in order to form a question, a negative sentence, a compound tense or the passive. • are used together with a main verb to give grammatical information and therefore add extra meaning to a sentence. • theprimaryauxiliaryverbs are be, doand have. They are irregularverbs and can be alsoused as main verbs.
