Policy Advocacy Paper • A possible policy to treat/attack (Problem Statement): • Policy Statement • Must include all 5 components • may be single spaced • Question #1- Financial Costs • General estimate of costs • What will the money be used for. • Non-monetary costs • Identify what rights are lost

Policy Advocacy Paper • Question #2- Legislative Requirements • Indicate the path of the policy from idea through becoming legislation • Identify the players (name & title) that will have an impact on your policy • Explain what they will do to influence the policy’s implementation • May be integrated into paragraph explaining the legislative path

  4. Policy Advocacy Paper • Question #3- Forecast the likelihood of implementation • Discuss the Feasibility & Effectiveness of the policy

  5. Question #4 • Indicate under what conditions or strategies that the policy’s chances of success in the future would increase or remain in effect. • What might happen to the policy in the future & why? • Provide academic evidence to support the need for the policy.
