BMAN31500UG Dissertation (Final year) • Full detail of the dissertation course can be found in the page ‘Dissertations’ of the online UG handbook at; https://ughandbook.portals.mbs.ac.uk/Myprogramme/Dissertations.aspx • The information on this link will be updated during summer (July). • Once you register for the dissertation course in your final year, you will also have the access to the Blackboard page.
What is a dissertation? • A dissertation must be your independent, original research work. • A supervisor will provide advice and guidance. • Word limit: approx. 15,000 to 18,000 words. • BMAN 31500 (sem-1 & 2) is the final-year option (30 credits) • No timetabled lecture/seminar (but there will be one library session.) • Assessment:a dissertation (100%)
What is required? • Prerequisite:BMAN20851 Research Methodology (2nd year, sem-1) • During the summer before the final year, you must secure a supervisor to register for BMAN31500 UG Dissertation. • You need to submit a dissertation proposal to the UG office in October (of your final year). • In BMAN31500, you need to submit a progress report to your supervisor before Christmas. (1000-1500 words; not graded, but the submission is compulsory) • Deadline for submission of a full dissertation: Week 11 of sem-2 in the final year.
