  2. Setting • Childhood home of Darren Shan- This is an important setting where everything is revealed to Darren’s clueless sister. Darren's sisters current home. Has to be abandoned because of incoming danger. Beginning of story takes place here. Sadness and not many people. • Stadium- The place where all the prisoners were taken. Climax takes place here. Great battle between Vampires and Vampaneze. Full of dead bodies. blood. Fighting. A lot of people. • Under the Bridge- This is where the final battle between Darren and Steve takes place. Dark and full of sorrow. Middle of night

  3. Characters • Darren Shan- Protagonist. He is a developing character. He turns into the lord of shadows in the end of the book. He is a Vampire Prince. His Destiny is to fight against Steve and determine who becomes the lord of the shadows. • Steve Leonard- Antagonist. Static. Throughout the whole book, Steve is a evil and merciless soul who vows to kill Darren. He is the lord of the Vampaneze. He and Darren used to be childhood friends. • Vancha- A second Vampire prince who accompanies Darren in his quest to defeat Steve. He is also a static character, staying part of Darren Shan’s team the whole time.

  4. Plot • Exposition- Darren finds out about Darius being his nephew and Steve being his father. Darren tells his sister about Steve and how evil he is. • Rising Action- Steve and his group face Darren and his team in the stadium for a fight to the death. Steve escapes the ordeal with his friend Gannen, Darren and Vancha follow • Climax- Darren defeats Steve in a last ditch chance. • Resolution- Darren becomes the lord of the shadows

  5. Resolution When Darren finally defeats Steve after all the years of Mr. Desmond Tiny speaking of their destiny, Darren is damned for life. He is the Lord of the shadows. There is no turning back now. He has to destroy the world and rule it. It is his destiny
