    8. 8 AKO Forms – Step by Step Go into AKO, click on "Forms" (icon upper right of screen)

    9. 9 AKO Forms – Step by Step Developing New NCOER Select "Drafts" tab In the Form Number box type “DA 2166-8” and select “Search” –OR- choose from the “Favorites” tab Select the form and open Once open select “Complete NCOER form using wizard format” Component “ARNG” , Status Code “M-Day”, “AGR” Begin NCOER When in AKO select “Automatically populate…” Type in your SSN and first Two letters of last name, Search It will auto populate your information, then you can continue in either wizard format or form view

    11. 11 AKO Forms – Step by Step Digitally Signing Document Open document and complete your portions Cursor over the signature block and click Select “sign” Choose digital certificate that doesn’t contain “e-mail” Select okay

    12. 12 AKO Forms – Step by Step Saving with AKO Forms To save within the system go into “View Form” and choose “SAVE” and ONLY this option! It will say it was saved successfully and gives you the option to close the screen. Click Okay You can now close the form by the little red “x” in the upper right and return to the “Drafts” tab to identify and rename your document **Remember to “Save” frequently as AKO main page times out and you will not be able to save your document unless you resign in and “Save As” to your desktop and then “Upload” to your AKO Forms.**

    13. 13 AKO Forms – Step by Step Setting up commonly used addresses Select the “Drafts” tab Select “Manage Favs” Search for AKO address and save You will be able to access them when routing by selecting “View Favs” This feature allows you to save commonly used AKO address’ so you do not have to search each time, as AKO can be slow

    14. 14 AKO Forms – Step by Step Renaming your documents Go into “Drafts” or “Inbox” tab and select the little box next to the document you wish to rename Select “Rename” from the list of boxes to the left Type in your new document name, return to tab

    15. 15 AKO Forms – Step by Step Routing Select little box next to document you wish to route Select “Route” Type in name of individual to send and search for their address (AKO address ONLY) –OR- select from “Favorites” Select little box next to correct name (can identify different properties by placing mouse over name or by clicking on name for more information) Click on “Add as Original” You will see their name added under the “Original” column to the left, select the little box next to their name here (VERY important!!! Do NOT send without checking this box) It is encouraged that you select “Yes” where it says “e-mail” directly under and to the right of “Original”

Once you do this, you will be able to type in information that will be e-mailed to that SM’s AKO notifying them to go to their AKO MyForms to complete their portion. It is also encouraged that you actually type something in this block b/c the generic e-mail does not specify to go to AKO At this same place you are also able to set a Suspense date Finally, Select “Route” and you are finished

    17. 17 AKO Forms – Step by Step Tracking After routing, you will be able to view all changes, history and who has it in your Tracking screen, found at the bottom portions of the “Inbox” and “Drafts” tabs ONLY the original document sent will be able to have changes made to it, which is why it was so important to check the box under “Original”
