LCB News • MONARC is not the Agenda of Nov. 24th • No open presentation nor referee report • Mirco: no need of a intermediate step before final report and after Marseille • Meeting with the referees confirmed for the 24th at 9.00 just before LCB • Matter to be discussed with the referees • Status of the project, works in progress, review of Milestones • Phase3 approval by March?

MONARC updated schedule? • Presentation of final report and of Phase-3 proposal by February • Goals of Phase-2 reached by January • Phase-3 “Letter of Intent” (2-3 pages) before end 1999? • Which framework? • CERN Computing Review about to start • LCB discontinued? Extended till summer? • Which document to which body for asking Phase-3 approval?

Preparing Phase-3 Proposal • Mails circulated as a first exchange of ideas • Contributions also by LHCb and ALICE • Someone to write by end-November a “draft LOI” on the basis of the mails and discussion here • I would propose Harvey… • Circulate the draft, get modifications and additions and converge by mid-December • At the same time understand how to proceed with a more formal document

  4. Preparation for final report • Much work still needed by simulation users to get results giving significant input on the feasible models, the resources needed and their geographic distribution • Keep frequent meetings by video • Need detailed discussion before Xmas (or just after)? Long in person meeting ? • Ideas from Krys, Paolo, Harvey, Iosif, others….. • Date of next meeting? My preference before Xmas...
