  2. The Beginning- • The stethoscope was created by David Laennec in 1816. • At first they was just using a piece of paper. • At first it wasn’t that popular.

  3. History- • 1829- 2 earpiece created. Not that successful • 1860- Chest piece created. • 1890-wooden and binaural stethoscope created. • 1898- ear piece and chest piece connected • 1900- electronic instrument

  4. Facts- • The word stethoscopes came from the Greek words stethoscopes(chest) and skopein(to look at). • At first the stethoscope was not successful. • Dr. Aubrey revealed the importance of the stethoscopes.

  5. 5 Types of Stethoscopes- • Fetal- listening to a fetus heart beat • Noise Reduction- built with ambient noise filtering system • Acoustic- chest piece with hollow tubes • Electronic- sound waves and amplify body sounds • Recording- recording sounds for later

  7. What made somebody make it? • They made the stethoscope to help doctors hear your organs better. The stethoscope can tell your doctor how your breathing is and what is your pulse. To detect if something is wrong with the person and how they can help them.

  8. How popular was it? • When it was discovered in 1816 it wasn’t that popular. • It got popular in 1829when then ear pieces was created.

  9. Who created it? • It was created by David Laennec in 1816. • It was upgraded by different people: • Dr. Charles Williams • Dr. Aubrey Leatham and etc .

  10. How has the look changed? • At first it was just a piece of paper • Then they created ear pieces • Then they created the chest pieces • It has been wooden, electric, and more
