About the Compassion Capital Fund (CCF) • Created in 2002, the Administration for Children and Families' Compassion Capital Fund (CCF) is a key component of the President's Faith-Based and Community Initiative. • Primary purpose is to help faith-based and community organizations increase their effectiveness, enhance their ability to provide social services to serve those most in need, expand their organizations, diversify their funding sources, and create collaborations to better serve those in need. The CCF administers three grant programs: • Communities Empowering Youth Program • Demonstration Program • Targeted Capacity-Building Program
Capacity-Building • Enhancing the collective skills, capabilities, and resources of an organization to implement and sustain positive change in a community.
TCDC’s Grant-Funded Goals • Conduct meetings/interviews with community leaders to develop community partnerships • Provide asset map & assessment of the area • Administer survey to a representative sample of neighborhood residents to identify needs • Conduct focus group sessions with neighborhood residents and leaders • Establish written policies, procedures, bylaws,& fiscal controls • Regular monthly executive board meetings • Develop & implement strategic plan • Implement volunteer training program • Develop & implement written revenue development plan
