Certain horror classics often get sequels or are remade years later, and tend to make a lot of money. Also the horror genre is highly dependant on trailers as usually the better the trailer way more people watch the movie What companies are responsible for making films in this genre: Both massive conglomerate companies ,and small independent companies make horror movies as a lot of the time horror conventions are easy to reproduce in a cheap fashion, however at the same time larger companies may use more CGI and things of the such in order to spruce up the film.
