Nb-Samples • Made of pure niobium rod, 2-types (puck, plug) • Polishing with diamond suspension, mean roughness 24 nm • Clean with iso-propanol in ultrasonic bath • blow with ionized N2 till particle free, packed in dry N2 Mirror like surface Shipped back after coating Puck form with Ø10mm
Experimental setup Vacuum system: chamber and pumps, gauge, sample holder, anode, feed through, UV optical window Laser system: high intensity UV laser, scanner, power meter/diode measurement instruments: Keithley 6485, DC, power meter Anode cathode Test chamber
UV laser for sample cleaning • UV 258 nm • 100 -500 kHz adjustable • Intensity adjustable, < 0.3 mJ/cm2 • High power cleaning • Low power for QE measurement Intensity profile of the UV output [I.Will, FEL06] Two channel laser for ELBE SRF Gun
