  1. Histology lab. #1

  2. Trachea

  3. Trachea (all 4 layer) Low magnification

  4. Trachea, 1- pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium, 2- goblet cells, 3- mucosa, 4- submucosal glands, 5- hyaline High magnification

  5. Trachea, 1- mucosa, 2- submucosal glands, 3- hyaline High magnification

  6. Trachea, 1- Hyaline, 2- adventitia High magnification

  7. What to mention about trachea in exam: • Pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium V.I • Goblet cells • Mucosa • Submucosal glands • Cartilage V.I • Adventitia V.I

  8. How can you tell it’s a trachea?تجي سؤال مب بس للفهم • The Epithelium is pseudostratified ciliated columnar • There’s a cartilage • It has 4 layers

  9. Lungs Bronchi, bronchioles, alveoli

  10. Lung tissue, Bronchus (bronchi) Red arrow is pointing at the cartilage

  11. Lung tissue, Bronchus (bronchi) Red arrow is pointing at the cartilage

  12. Lung tissue, Bronchus (bronchi) Red arrow is pointing at the cartilage

  13. What to mention about bronchi in exam: • Existance of cartilage • The inner bronchial folds

  14. Lung tissue, bronchiole No cartilage present

  15. Lung tissue, bronchiole No cartilage present

  16. Lung tissue, bronchiole No cartilage present

  17. Lung tissue, bronchiole No cartilage present

  18. Lung tissue, bronchiole No cartilage present

  19. What to mention about bronchioles in exam: • No cartilage • Bronchiolar folds • Cuboidal cells in terminal bronchioles, and simple squamous in respiratory bronchioles

  20. Lung tissue, Alveoli Blank spaces surronded by thin alveolar septum

  21. Lung tissue, Alveoli Blank spaces surronded by thin alveolar septum

  22. What to mention about alveoli in exam: • Have thin septums, (the alveolar septum) • Contain type 1 & 2 alveolar cells.

  23. Important to mention while naming the slide • Tell if the slide is for a trachea or a lung, then mention the part shown E.g: Lung tissue, Bronchioles • Mention the epithelial tissue • Most important thing to mention is the Pseudostratified ciliated columnar epitheliumas it is a special characteristic of respiratory organs.
