  18. Intra-unit Reassignments • Local units are not authorized to reassign members to positions other than those assigned by RPM-2. • Local units should submit command concerns to RPM-2 requesting intra-unit reassignment. All command concerns will be considered. • Resources: • Reserve Personnel Manual, para 5.A.1.b

  19. Problems w/ unapproved intra-unit reassignments: • Members cannot receive competency/qual associated with RPM assigned billet • Negatively impacts CG’s ability to identify members with proper competency/quals required for mobilization • Can negatively affect accountability during natural disasters. • RPM-2 makes subsequent assignments to units position that appear vacant on PAL, not knowing someone is already in the position (unofficially).

  20. Problems w/ unapproved intra-unit reassignments(cont.): • CGRC is negatively impacted in trying to recruit to unit needs. • Unit readiness metrics can be skewed. • OERS/EERS and other rating chain issues negatively impacted • Makes it difficult to produce accurate shopping lists – hence, units/members negatively impacted

  21. Intra-Unit reassignments: What Units can do… • Submit Command Concerns to request intra-unit reassignments • Make temporary reassignments to cover gaps • Use collateral duties and special projects to address training/developmental opportunities • When in doubt, use RPM-2 as a resource
