Prayer Dear Lord, I thank you for the Grace of being here this morning; for the sleep that has refreshed me; and I thank You for the chance to make a new beginning. Amen Reflection All over Britain, children and young people are beginning the new school or college year. It is good to give ourselves a fresh start as we begin the year. All thinks we did last year are in the past. We have no need to cling to that. The future is ahead of us, and how we are going to use it is up to us. We need to say, ‘Let me be new, let there be a freshness in my life, let me be happy, let my work sparkle. Activities • Do - In your reflections book or on a piece of paper write down 2 or 3 things you would like to achieve this year. If you have used a piece of paper – seal it in an envelope and give it to your teacher to keep until the end of the year. • Think – what worries you most about this year? What can you do about it? • Discuss – If you were in the academy last week discuss what you did for the first time. What did you enjoy? What would you like to do differently this week? • If this week is your first week back discuss what you would like to do differently this year. • Can you always put away the past? Reflections Activities Each day choose an activity either from this sheet or an activity of your own choice based on the Thought for the Week to be completed in your tutor groups reflection time. Hymn One more step along the road I go. • Music and words can be found on V: music\Departmental\Collective Worship\
