  2. Transition Year One year programme for students who have completed Junior Cert. 15. Why implement ePortfolios? Two years ago… We had 120 TY students. All TY students now had iPads. The school had started using Microsoft 365.

  16. We were looking for a better way to store and assess student work. We wanted to engage different types of learners. The students engagement with subjects was not being effectively reflected in written portfolios. It provided a better and more consistent opportunity for students to reflect. Saves ink and paper!

  17. Ongoing Assessment in TY Formative • Students constantly update and add to their workspace. • Ongoing interaction between students and teachers are possible. Summative • The ePortfolio forms part of the end of year assessment. Students choose what to include and talk about at the interview at the end of the year. • The interviewers could look ahead and see the variety of skills demonstrated.

  18. Sample ePortfolio

  19. Student Presentation Amy Browne Muireann Byrne Aisling Reidy Shauna Murphy • Why I selected TY • My experience of TY • Advice to prospective TY students

  20. Reminder! • Completed forms to be returned by Thursday 19th April. • Group Interviews will take place on Monday 23rd & Tuesday 24th April. • Interview schedule will be posted on TY hub in advance (under TY News)
