  3. A Vaccine Mouth Strip • Like breath strips • Quick dissolving film • Melts into a liquid that children and infants would swallow easily • First designed by undergraduates at Johns Hopkins University at Biomedical Engineering Design Day

  4. Our experiment • To check variables in our vaccine delivery system • Density of delivery system • Shape of delivery system • Porosity of delivery system • Solute best to dissolve our vaccine system • The darker the solution, the more vaccine is being liberated

  5. Measuring the solution • Light is absorbed by solutions • The darker the solution, the more light is absorbed • Conversely, the less light is transmitted • A spectrophotometercan measure this absorbance

  6. Our equipment • 96 well plate • Microplate reader • Can read multiple samples quickly
