‘’Picture-Perf’’ - What is it? It’s a fresh & exciting concept to add to your creations by perforating images into sheet metal.
The Process It starts with an image processed on a computer which is then perforated onto a sheet.
The process is similar to printing. Instead of dots, holes are used to create an image.Different size holes represent the various shades in the image.
Here is an example of natural sunlight shining on “Picture-Perf”.Shadow images, as you can see, can be quite effective.
Using artificial light sources contribute significantly • to changing its appearance.
Curving a flat sheet with a small radius • makes panels a lot more ridged • and can help eliminate potential distortion issues.
Completed project, • the slightly curved panels are substantially stronger • & less susceptible towards vandalism
Coloured & transparent background gives added dimension, printed canvas or light diffusing plastic can be supplied behind the perforations
RGB LED’s are be fitted when required adding another dimension to “Picture-Perf”.
Detail – is determined by size &spacing of holes in relation to surface area. Large surface areas achieve good detail without making perforations small.
“Picture-Perf” in Positive & negative format painted in two colours with only one perforation size.
One perforation sizecan be used for simple images where thick material will be used, such as floor plates.Ideal for punched steel flooring with lighting on the underside
‘’Picture-Perf” using three hole sizesgiving more of a three dimensional effect
Image with two shades supplied in two different ways One perforation size. less transparent. Two perforation sizes More transparent
Individual panels can be punched to create one ‘’Picture-Perf’’ image

Simple and quick to manufacture ‘’Picture-Perf’’ examples of balustrade infill
Microscopic stretching occurs in all perforating processes. (Extreme example of stainless steel) In 99% of cases our solution is to use a levelling machine we can level up to 2.2m in both directions. End result – totally flat sheet
