Overall Status RES. 80 (VII-18) Strengthening CITEL within the OAS DEC. 103 COM/CITEL (XXXV-18) Request from the OAS General Assembly USD 253,000 Regular Fund The cut directly affects the work and initiatives of CITEL • The initiatives provide the OAS the greatest benefits • They promote the entry of new Associate Members • They publicize the ICT progress made by the OAS/CITEL Agreed on by the countries: Maintain the amount of the Regular Fund • Ensure the OAS contribution to promote access to ICTs • Promote freedom of speech • Connect the unconnected Is committed to supporting the OAS Proposes improving the already efficient management of scarce resources CITEL Understands the budgetary difficulties We must protect and strengthen the CITEL, given the excellent results it has shown
