  2. Preliminary Observations • Does the statement, “It doesn’t make any difference…,” apply to other areas of life? Doctor – patient? Teacher – student? Parent – child? Employer – employee? Etc. • The fact that the Bible points out basic differences at the end of time proves it does make a difference now (Mt. 7:13-14; 25:31-46; 2 Thess. 1:7-9)

  3. “It doesn’t make any difference what you believe as long as you are sincere…” • Saul of Tarsus was sincere, but he believed the wrong thing about Jesus (Acts 23:1; 26:9) … it does make a difference!

  4. “It doesn’t make any difference how you worship as long as you are sincere…” • Cain and Abel were sincere in their worship, but God made a distinction between them (Gen. 4:2-5; Heb. 11:4) … it does make a difference!

  5. “It doesn’t make any difference if you go to church or not, so long as you are good…” • Why did Jesus die to build a church if it doesn’t make any difference (Mt. 16:18)? • Cornelius was “good,” but lost until he was baptized (Acts 10:1ff; 11:14) … it does make a difference!

  6. “It doesn’t make any difference what church you attend, so long as you go…” • Multiple churches did not exist in the NT, so how do you know? • God does not plant all religious groups (Mt. 15:13) • Jesus built but one church (Mt. 16:18; Acts 2:47; 1 Cor. 3:11; Eph.1:22-23; 4:4-6; 5:25)… it does make a difference!

  7. It Makes A Difference… • What God we choose (Heb. 11:6) • What savior we choose (Jn. 14:6) • What we do to be saved (Jn. 3:3-5; 8:24; Lk. 13:5) • What law we are under (Heb. 10:9) • What we preach (Gal. 1:6-9)

  8. It Makes A Difference… • How we worship God (Jn. 4:24) • What name we wear (Acts 4:12; 1 Pet. 4:16) • How we serve God (Heb. 12:28-29) • How we live (1 Cor. 6:9; Gal. 5:21) • How we pray (Lk. 18:9-14)

  9. Ask These If It Makes A Difference • Cain (Gen. 4) • Lost world (Gen. 7) • Nadab and Abihu (Lev. 10) • Saul (1 Sam. 15) • Uzza (2 Sam. 6) • Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5)

  10. Does It Make Any Difference? • It depends upon who you ask, man or God • These statements are the product of modern relativism and pluralism • These statements are excuses offered to keep one from obeying the Word of God, or to justify man’s varied opinions and practice • Yes, it really does make a difference!
