PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE To provide strategic and political guidance to eliminate gender – based violence by 2030 To conceptualize and coordinate strategies for the development of coherent national plans and strategies to address gender – based violence To create strategic partnerships to address gender based - violence To create a platform for sharing information and best practices To monitor and evaluate the implementation of coherent national plans and strategies To ensure that all government departments commit sufficient resources to the fight against gender – based violence To engage with business, civil society organizations and other role players to raise additional resources
MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS • Hosted a consultative meeting to present the report of the Interim National Council and to revise the 365 Days National Plan of Action and the Report was endorsed un-opposed • Drafted a consolidated report on the deliberations of the Consultative Workshop • Revised the 365 Days National Plan of Action • Coordinated and consolidated Gender-Based Violence Programme by Civil Society as well as government departments into a comprehensive plan. • Collaborated with UNICEF and UNFPA to develop a Gender – Based violence prevention programme to be funded by DFID • Coordinated logistics towards GBV inception workshop organized in partnership with UN Development Partners
