  1. Review Back to Basics! • John 14:6 • Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me. • John 14:7 • If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know Him and have seen Him.

  2. The Truth • John 8:32 • Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. • John 8:36 • So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

  3. Lied to and imprisoned • John 8:44-45 • You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me!

  4. So who do you believe? • Let’s be honest! • John 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. • Are you living in obedience to the truth He has shown you? Are you living FREE? • Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is; his good, pleasing and perfect will.

  5. A check up, how do you face life? Symptoms Secure Confident Active At peace Welcome challenge Purposeful Hopeful Full of faith Symptoms Anxious Fearful Lack confidence Lack of purpose Behaving badly Apathy (Comfy) Doubting Poor prayer life

  6. Philippians 4:6-7 • Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

  7. Listen to Him! 2 Timothy 1:12b • …. because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him for that day. Romans 8:38-39 • For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  8. Be certain who you are listening to • Prepare yourself to be in His presence • Exodus 30:19-20 • Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet with water from it. Whenever they enter the Tent of Meeting, they shall wash with water so that they will not die.

  9. Exodus 33:7-11 • Now Moses used to take a tent and pitch it outside the camp some distance away, calling it the "tent of meeting". Anyone enquiring of the Lord would go to the tent of meeting outside the camp. And whenever Moses went out to the tent, all the people rose and stood at the entrances to their tents, watching Moses until he entered the tent. As Moses went into the tent, the pillar of cloud would come down and stay at the entrance, while the Lord spoke with Moses. Whenever the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the entrance to the tent, they all stood and worshipped, each at the entrance to his tent. The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young assistant Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.

  10. There is a Price (very costly) • Exodus 35:21-22 • and everyone who was willing and whose heart moved him came and brought an offering to the Lord for the work on the Tent of Meeting, for all its service, and for the sacred garments. All who were willing, men and women alike, came and brought gold jewellery of all kinds: brooches, ear-rings, rings and ornaments. They all presented their gold as a wave offering to the Lord. • Exodus 35:29 • All the Israelite men and women who were willing brought to the Lord freewill offerings for all the work the Lord through Moses had commanded them to do. • Are you willing?

  11. Wait for Him • Be Patient • Exodus 34:28-29 • Moses was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant–the Ten Commandments. When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord.

  12. Ps 25:3 Indeed, none of those who wait for You will be ashamed • Ps 25:5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; For You I wait all the day. • Ps 27:14 Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD. • Ps 62:5 My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him • Ps 119:81 My soul languishes for Your salvation; I wait for Your word. • Ps 147:11 The LORD favors those who fear Him, Those who wait for His loving-kindness.

  13. A choice • Psalm 106:12-14 • Then they believed his promises and sang his praise. But they soon forgot what he had done and did not wait for his counsel. In the desert they gave in to their craving; in the wasteland they put God to the test. • Isaiah 40:30-31 • Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

  14. Walk in the flesh or SpiritPractice His Presence • John 4:24 - God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in spirit and in truth. • Rom 8:5-6 - For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, • Gal 5:24-25 - Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

  15. To sum up! • Do you listen to what He says? • Will you wait for His word? • Will you believe what He says? • Will you be obedient? • 1 Sam 15:22b ….Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice and to heed than the fat of rams.

  16. Numbers 6:24-26 • "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face towards you and give you peace."
