  3. Predictions (Class Discussion) Who is Horton? What does Horton hear? Why does Horton hear what he does?

  4. During Reading Now that the class has made some predictions, while I read the story if there is anything that you heard as a prediction raise your hand. After the story is read the students will take turns on saying what predictions that were made were true and if they were not true then how could we change it to be true from what we heard in the story After Reading

  5. Who was listening? -o sounding words What words from the story make the –o sound? • Who • Nool • Joy • Noise • Drool • Sound • Cool • Around • Pool • Tool • School • Rule *Students will be put into groups to play the smart board game provided.

  6. -o picture samples Make any picture that has a –o sound word in it. Z m • Collaborative project • Be creative • Use crayons or coloring pencils for this assignment. B m *Present to the class when finished. Each person in the group must say something when telling us about the picture.

  7. How to make a photo story • Each student will go to a computer and pick out 3 pictures for our photo story. • When the student finds a picture they would like to use, they will save it to the computer. This will allow me put the pictures together easier. • I will show the students the pictures everyone has picked out and we will decide on which ones we are going to use for the photo story. • Once we have decided which pictures to use we will pick out some sound and text to use. (Text is not necessary) • After the photo story is complete, the students will show it to the younger students. (This will be counted into the participation grade)
