What is Apprenticeship? • Time-tested training system. • Structured on-the-job training. • Supervision by qualified mentors. • Combines related technical instruction. • Progressive pay scale. • Flexible and industry driven. • Over 938 apprenticeable occupations.
Registered Apprenticeship Minimum Requirements Customarily learned on-the-job. Clearly identified and commonly recognized in industry. Involves manual, mechanical or technical skills and knowledge (min. of 2000 hours OJT). Requires related instruction to supplement OJT.
BASIC CONCEPT • An apprentice can be anyone looking to enter into an occupation. • They apply to a local apprenticeship program. • They work on the job with a qualified experienced worker. • In addition to working, they attend classes. • When they finish the apprenticeship, they receive a Certificate of Completion.
