What is “Brainstorming?” • “Creative thinking.” • “an effective way to generate lots of ideas on a specific issue and then determine which idea – or ideas – is the best solution.” (Source: http://www.jpb.com/creative/brainstorming.php)
What is “vocabulary”? According to answers.com, vocabulary is: • “Words of a Language” • A collection of words • “A repertoire [stock or supply]” that supports meaningful communication”
Link between brainstorming and vocabulary? You must have a vocabulary to brainstorm and express your creative thoughts.
Why Brainstorm? • To come up with writing ideas • To come up with speech ideas • To learn to use appropriate vocabulary to express your creative imagination • To keep the brain/mind agile and engaged. The brain is a muscle that can atrophy (lose its strength) as can any muscle that is not conditioned or used regularly.
