3. A wonderful and exciting South American city, Lima is Peru's capital. The landscape of Lima is diverse and ranges from rustic shantytowns, to modern shopping centers, gleaming high-rise hotels, exceptional seafood restaurants and an entertaining nightlife.

5. Touristic places: • Plaza de Armas: The Plaza de Armas is where the city of Lima was born. Also known as the Plaza Mayor, it is the heart of the city, located in its historic district, with streets radiating out in a grid. The location was picked by the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro in 1535. Though not one original building remains, at the center of the plaza is an impressive bronze fountain erected in 1650. Today the plaza is flanked by the cathedral and several palaces including Palacio Arzobispal, which boasts some of the most exquisite Moorish-style balconies in the city.

6. Miraflores District: Miraflores is one of Lima’s more exclusive neighborhoods and definitely one of its most scenic since it sits on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It is THE beach resort and entertainment center in Lima. The beach is very popular with surfers and paragliders. Miraflores oozes with upscale shopping opportunities, but travelers interested in Peruvian arts and crafts will head to Avenue Petit Thouars. Miraflores also is a magnet for people who like to party in its bars, clubs and casinos. As a residential area, it blends the charm of colonial housing with today’s high rises.

7. Cristo del Pacífico: The statue is on the hill adjacent to Morro Solar, has a height of no less than 37 meters, was an initiative of former President Alan García Pérez. A work inspired by Corcovado’s Christ. The monument is incredible, not only because of how big it is, but because of its finish, when people go to see it, they go to see a statue, many of them walk, manage to climb simply by faith, by some belief or promise related to the religion. The large monument can be seen from several districts of Lima such as San Juan de Miraflores, Villa Maria del Triunfo, the high gully buildings, Miraflores and the entire green coast.

8. Pachacamac Archaeological Sanctuary Sacred and ceremonial place of the beginning of the Christian Era where thousands of pilgrims arrived to present their offerings and consult the oracle of Pachacamac, who looked at the past, the future and destiny. It includes pyramidal temples and enclosures built by various pre-Columbian cultures and by the Incas. The temple of Pachacamac, the shrine of the Sun god and the palace of the chosen women, the Virgins of the Sun stand out. It exhibits a museum of place that keeps the idol of the god Pachacamac, which could not be seen by the profane, his vision was reserved only the high priests were allowed, who kept him, worshiped and were interpreters of the divine Oracle. The whole place is considered sacred and part of the mystical axis of the world.

9. Gold Museum of Peru and Arms of the world The famous Museo de Oro is located in the suburbs of Monterrico, district of Surco, Lima, surrounded by large avenues. It is the center of exposure of the wealth that made Peru so famous and rich to Spain. As for the interior of the Museum, it has an upper floor, where the uniforms and weapons of Peru's violent past are exhibited. On the ground floor of the site there are hundreds of silver and gold objects that date from the pre-conquest period to colonial times.

Rafael Larco Herrera Archaeological Museum Founded in 1926, the Rafael Larco Herrera Archaeological Museum chronologically displays impressive galleries that show an exceptional panorama of 3000 years of development of the history of pre-Columbian Peru. It presents the finest collection of gold and silver of ancient Peru, as well as the famous collection of erotic art, one of the most visited tourist attractions in Peru. The tour of the museum runs through seven rooms: gold room and jewelry, lithic room, vault, ceramic room, metal room, room of cultures, textile room, erotic room and deposits.

11. Museum of the Nation The museum as a great conservator of Peruvian heritage, has thousands of original pieces corresponding to different periods of Peruvian history, which have been obtained through archaeological research and the recovery of goods that had been trafficked illegally.   The Museum of the Nation also fulfills being the great cultural center of the country, for that reason in its environments there are temporary and permanent exhibitions that allow a great versatility of its facilities, and in its rooms there are exhibited numerous collections of art and culture of the various regions of Peru. Colca Canyon: One of the deepest natural canyons in the world, a formidable excursion that allows you to appreciate altiplanic landscapes, small colonial settlements, archaeological remains and most importantly, the spectacle of the flight of condors during the dawn, on the abyss precipice of 3 191 meters of depth that reaches the canyon. To appreciate this natural wonder, you must travel to the Colca Valley located 165 kilometers from Arequipa. Normally it is recommended to spend the night before in the town of Chivay, where the hotel offer of the area is concentrated, since to appreciate the formidable flight of condors one must already be in the canyon in the early hours of the day.
