Families as Partners is an AISD initiative funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, aimed at creating sustainable school-family partnerships. We provide training, resources, and funds for strategies identified by parents and staff. Join us to build a welcoming school environment and support student learning.

  2. Who we are • Families as Partners is an AISD initiative funded by the W. K. Kellogg Foundation with the goal of creating sustainable and effective school‐family partnerships for academic success. • We collaborate with principals, parent support specialists and other stakeholders to provide training and resources to families and teachers to support students’ learning.

How do we support your school • We support staff and families by building leaders and joining their efforts to establish a welcoming school environment. • We support your school by providing professional development, and resources for parents and staff to achieve their hopes and dreams for student success. • Participating campuses receive funds to move on strategies identified by parents and staff.

  5. “THINK TANK” COMMITTEE This committee is formed by the principal, Parent Support Specialist and a group of equal number of parents and teacher/staff that work together. “Think Tank” functions: • Identify areas of focus, develop strategies and action plans to address them. • Committee reviews, votes, and prioritizes on how FAP funds available to the school are used to address needs identity. • Committee should meet at least 4 times a year

Parents Champions • The program provides opportunities for parents to become Parent Champions, or parents who take a leadership role in their school. • Campus may have up to 5 Parent Champions to support in the following areas: • Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Champion • Literacy Champion • Administrative Aide • Technology Champion • English As a Second Language (ESL) Instructor

Building capacities of parents • We offer many workshops on literacy, health & wellness, leadership, self‐care, preparing for college and much more! • We offer campus based parent education: • Computer Classes • English As Second Language Classes • The ePromotoraearly childhood program gives parents tools to help student with literacy at home • Health and Nutrition classes, Sustainable Food Centers • College Readiness • Book Studies, SEL
