Your Goal In groups you and your partners will be responsible for mastering a set of Greek Mythology vocabulary words and teaching them to the class using Microsoft PowerPoint.
Directions • Go to the following website. http://fayette.k12.in.us/~cbeard/calliope/vocabindex.html Your group has been given a letter. Divide up the vocabulary words between the group members. (Someone might have to take two.)
Directions Cont. • Click on your word to open the link. • Read the story about your word and write down its origins (where it came from) and what it means today.
Directions Cont. • Take the one question quiz at the end to check your understanding • Do not use the worksheets at this time we will come back to them.
Directions Cont. • After each word’s meaning and origin have been learned, shared with other group mates and written down, its time to create your PowerPoint. • You will present and teach these words to the class.
Directions Cont. • Each team needs to have a total of 10 slides. • One slide for each of the five words’ meaning and origin = 5 • Five slides of quiz questions to test the class on your words =5
Directions Cont. • Ask Mrs. Harris for the flash drive to save your PowerPoint Presentation
For Your Information • We will have two days in class to work on these • If a person in the group is absent, it is required that their word still be included in the PowerPoint presentation. • There will be no time to waste. You must get on task and stay on task.
How you will be graded • All five words defined and explained -10 • Ten required slides included on PP -10 • Presentation (everyone included) – 10 ___________ Total 30
