  1. God’s Discipline Hebrews 12:3-8 Bible Discipline is not an Option, but Commanded! Discipline Works if done scripturally, and will accomplish God’s Purposes!

  2. “Unless the Lord builds the House, They labor in vain who build it.” Psalm 127:1 “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ!” 1 Corinthians 3:11

  3. God’s Discipline • Gives Direction – not a simple matter of condemnation alone! Ephesians 6:4; Colossians 3:21; Hebrews 5:7-9 Jesus learned obedience • Demands a Bible Standard – not a human standard! Hebrews 12:9-11 • Requires Patience & commitment! 2 Timothy 4:2-5

  4. God’s Discipline The Son’s of Eli – 1 Samuel 2:12, 22-25; 3:1-18, But why didn’t God want to kill Samuel? Samuel’s sons were just as wicked? 1 Samuel 8:1-3, Israel asked for a king! Adonijah Never Disciplined, 1 Kings 1:5-6

  5. Jesus Taught Discipline • Matthew 18:10-14, Ninety & Nine • Matthew 18:15-17, Clear instructions to an individual! • Matthew 18:21-35, Forgive from your heart! Maintain an attitude of forgiveness, but do not go beyond God’s word!

  6. Discipline is God’s Correction • 1 Corinthians 5:1-9; 2 Corinthians 2:1-11, (Remove Him from among you) • Galatians 6:1-3 (Restore Such a One) • Jude 16-23(pulling them out of the fire) • 1 Thessalonians 5:12-18 Withdraw • 2 Thessalonians 3:6, 13-15 Withdraw

Surely this is just a “Matter of Judgment?” “How can anyone decern who should be Marked and Shunned?” • Romans 16:17-18, Those causing Divisions in the church • Philippians 3:17-18, Serve Them- selves! Enemies of the Cross! • 1 Timothy 6:3-5, Shun Such a One! • Titus 3:10-11; Factious Person • Ephesians 5:1-6*,7*,8-11* Have No Fellowship with Them! • 2 John 9-11, Receive them Not!
