“This is my favourite story,” said Jim. Once upon a time, there was a king and a queen. They lived in a palace with their daughter, Princess Ada. Book p.54 Ada was in love with a prince From a nearby land. His name Was Roy and he loved her, too. One sunny day, Roy asked Ada to marry him. “Ada will you marry me?” he asked. Ada said, “Yes!” The king’s tailor made Roy’s wedding suit. The queen’s dressmaker made Ada’s wedding dress.
The elves made a pair of boots for the prince. The fairies made a pair of silver slippers for the princess. Book p.55 On the day of the wedding, Everyone from near and far came to celebrate. When Ada kissed her husband, the crowd clapped. The celebrations ended with colourful fireworks. The next day, Ada and the prince said goodbye to everyone. They sailed away to their lovely new home and lived happily ever after.

The White Elephant There was a mean potter called Tin, and a clever Washerman called Nam. Book p.58 One day, the king wanted a white elephant. Tin told the king that Nam could wash a grey elephant so clean, It would turn white! Nam said that he needed a big pot to do this. The King ordered Tin to make the pot. Tin’s pot was not strong enough and it broke. Tin made another pot. This pot was strong enough and big enough For the elephant. Nam built a fire under the pot but the water did not boil. “This Pot is too thick,” he said. Tin made many pots but none of them was right. The King was very angry. He ordered Tin to leave the country. Clever Nam lived happily from then on.
