What It Is Like Today • Government is trying to focus on the effects of severe droughts and food imports • Ignoring the initial problem of the Bushman (who are the natives) 1990s • Placing the Bushman in a type of settlement known to the Bushman as the “Place of Death” • Tactic to keep water away from the Bushman • 2006 Supreme Court ruled that the Bushman have a right to live undisturbed, along with water rights
Water Rights • In the entire history of Botswana, water has been an essential commodity because it’s so rare Water Rocks!!!
