Supported immersion in first year An opportunity to develop and refine the skills and attitudes necessary to be successful at university Fully credited as the first year of a degree* 70% of DoTS students go into Monash degrees DoTS is recognised and credited by other universities The flexibility to change your mind about what disciplines/degrees you want to study Additional class time Advantages of DoTS
A performance based pathway: To gain a place in second year, you have to pass 8 out of 8 subjects for some courses students are expected to obtain at least a Credit (60%) average and will be supported to achieve this (remember 70% of students do successfully gain entry to Monash courses) Classes can be scheduled at any time Monday to Friday between 8 am and 6 pm: you are expected to make your work commitments fit around this, not the other way around Typically you will be required to attend 13 + hours of classes, and undertake 26 hours of private study per week. Students who do not pass all 8 subjects will not normally be eligible for consideration for a place in a Monash degree. You cannot repeat failed units, or the course. Expectations of DoTS Students
