  4. CLASSROOM MATERIALS & SUPPLIES: • Pens & Pencils • Paper • Notebooks – students will keep notes over topics covered in class. • Notebooks, a pen and a pencil will remain in class. • 25 extra credits pts for notebook received by Wednesday, August 22nd • USB/Thumb drive – NOT Required, but highly recommended.

  5. PROGRAM PROCEDURES • You will earn your grade in the class by completing a variety of assignments and projects as they are assigned. Students will NOT develop any projects/web pages that are inappropriate for school (i.e. cursing, nudity, inappropriate body/hand gestures, etc.) • If you are absent from school, it is your responsibility to check with Mr. Engle and the class web-site to see what was missed. • As you enter the classroom, there will be a sign in sheet for students to provide their initials and time of arrival. You will be held accountable for your absences and/or tardy(s). Attendance will be taken by the sign in sheet. (Your sign in sheet serves as your time clock.) You must be in the classroom before the tardy bell rings. NO EXCUSES!!!

  6. Each student will have a designated seating area. The instructor reserves the right to change seating assignments at his discretion due to behavioral or related issues. • Once students have signed in, they should be on task. All assignments will be posted on the board daily or on the class web site. BEFORE ASKING WHAT THE ASSIGNMENTS ARE, REVIEW THE BOARD AND CHECK THE CLASS WEB SITE. • Check the SmartBoard when you come into class. There may be notes posted that need to be placed in your classroom notebook.

  7. Students will save their projects/documents to the appropriate folder/file location. If a file is erased due to it being saved to the wrong file/folder, that student will have to re-do the assignment. ADDITIONAL TIME WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPLETE THE ASSIGNMENT. • You’ll need to come in before or after school to make up assignments. • Students will NOT remove any attached devices from the computer workstations. • At the end of each hour, your workstation should be in order. It is the responsibility of those people sitting at the workstation to inform Mr. Engle if it is not in order when they arrive to class.

  8. If you must leave the room while class is in session, you must notify Mr. Engle. • Only one person can be out of the class at a time. • Do NOT abuse this policy by asking for a pass on a daily basis. I reserve the right to take this privilege away. • Students must get permission before entering the storage area. Sitting behind Mr. Engle’s desk and the demonstration workstation is NOT allowed.

  9. If you need help with a task, you must follow these steps: VERY IMPORTANT!!! • Thoroughly read the directions/instructions. • Try to find the answer yourself by utilizing related resources & notes. • Ask another student/trainee who has been through the same material • See instructor for assistance.

  10. Cell Phones will be allowed for classroom purposes. (i.e. maintaining calendars/events, maintaining class resource information, contacting instructor by text message ONLY, etc.) • NOTE: Students will NOT be permitted to talk on their cell phones at all. If phone calls (emergency only) need to be made, they must be made from a school phone. • Students MUST put away all cell phones and follow the district’s cell phone policy after leaving class. • Students who abuse the use of cell phones will forfeit the opportunity to earn extra credit points for that semester and will cause cell phone policy changes for their entire class.

  14. SUBSTITUTE PROCEDURES: • In the event that I am absent from school, the sub will always have instructions for assignments to be completed. If for some reason the sub does not go over those instructions, you should be sure and review the class web site for the assignments for the day. I can update information from home. I will not accept the excuse that you were unable to complete assignments because the sub failed to give you access. Class should continue as if I were there. • Any assignments not completed while there is a sub can not be made up if you were in attendance for class. YOU WILL RECEIVE A ZERO (0).
