The language most often includes “sensory words”, or words that convey something you can see, hear, taste, smell, or feel.Here are a fewexamples……See if you can identify the sensory words.
The dancer wore a skirt that draped like a melting snowflake.
Like a mighty eagle, the F-16 streaked down from the clouds for a kill.
The black ooze squelched beneath my feet, releasing the stench of decay, ruin, and regret.
Remember, these words help the reader to visualize; this is one of the active reading skills we’ve been talking about.
